At some point in everybody’s life, there comes a time for decluttering… I woke up on one hot day in August 2017 and decided I had to straighten out a family property I owned since 1990.
The very first premises, where Sormani’s big adventure in design and furniture manufacturing originally started, were in recent years – and for quite a long time – used as a storage building for all my family’s belongings. Thus, after years of neglection, the building looked more like a waste dump than like a property…
After 7 months of hard work, cleaning and restoring, the building revealed its precious content. It is now displaying the Sormani family collection at its best, with an array of items that made history in Italian design.
Some of the most important pieces in this collection spanning over three decades – from 1961 to 1989 – are now available to all vintage connoisseurs and design lovers around the world.
